And now, that same engine is the foundation for that of the all-new Corvette Z06. It's purpose-built to dominate the track and boasts the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in production, pumping out even more horsepower than the race car.

A testament to unrelenting craftsmanship, the hand-built LT6 5.5L engine features an all-new flat-plane crankshaft that gives it a signature growl. Strike fear in your competition as it hits a redline of 8600 rpm. And with a balanced mid-engine design, more of its impressive power is directed to the rear wheels where it matters most.
BLOCK/LUBE SYSTEM
4.4 in./111.76 mm bore centres with 4.1 in./104.25 mm bore help continue a rich heritage of Chevrolet small block engines. Continuously variable pressure delivery coupled with six scavenge stages helps ensure optimal oil delivery for the ultimate in track capability.
FLAT-PLANE CRANK
A flat-plane crankshaft allows balanced bank to bank air flow and provides low rotational inertia. Lightweight forged titanium connecting rods, and low-profile forged pistons allow rapid rpm changes as well as high engine speeds.
DOHC VALVETRAIN
Titanium intake valves with dual valve springs enable precise valvetrain control at high engine speeds, providing optimal track performance.
